David L. Doersam, age 46, of Jasper

David L. Doersam, age 46, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018, in the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette, Indiana.

David was born in Jasper, Indiana, on December 31, 1971, to Clinton and Marilyn (Parker) Doersam.

David was a United States Army Veteran, serving as an Infantryman and Cavalry Scout, stationed in Hawaii, and Ft. Hood, TX, serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was awarded the Expert Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation With Valor Device, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), Air Assault Badge, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, V.F.W. Post #673, and the American Legion Post #147.

He enjoyed video games and sports, especially watching the Denver Broncos, St. Louis Cardinals and Indiana Pacers.

Surviving, his mother and stepfather, Marilyn (Leo) Clements, Jasper, IN, one daughter, Alyssa Seitz, one sister, Deanna Farley, Jasper, IN, one brother, Tim (LaVon) Doersam, Jasper, IN, and nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is his father Clinton Doersam.

A Mass of Christian Burial for David L. Doersam will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Enlow Cemetery in Jasper. The V.F.W. Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rights.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or to the Huntington's Disease Society for America.
