Carolyn J. Friedman, age 78 of Dubois, Indiana, passed away at 12:47 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Timber of Jasper.
Carolyn was born in Otwell, Indiana on March 15, 1941 to Aaron Lee and Marie (Grubb) Dedrick. She married Harry Friedman on April 29, 1961 in the Otwell United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1984.
She was a self-employed poultry farmer.
Carolyn was a graduate of Otwell High School and member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads where she volunteered as a secretary and a Sunday school teacher.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Surviving are one son, Dean Friedman, Dubois, IN, companion, Ed Jones of French Lick, two sisters, Judy Patterson of Jasper, and Sharon Kovacs, Bedford, IN, two brothers; Eldon Dedrick (Nick), and Frankie Dedrick (Peggy), both of Jasper.
Preceding her in death besides her husband was one daughter Darlene Sue Friedman and one son, Darrell Lee Friedman, one sister, Mary Lou Polen, and three brothers, Richard, Bill and Glen Dedrick.
Funeral services for Carolyn Friedman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2019 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer’s Association, or a favorite charity.
