C. LaVerne Brosmer, age 90 of Jasper
C. LaVerne Brosmer, age 90 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 6:23 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, IN.
LaVerne was born in French Lick, Indiana on November 3, 1928 to Clarence and Alice (McKittrick) Palmer. She married Edgar W. Brosmer on November 14, 1946 in St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Dubois. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2001.
LaVerne and her husband Edgar were the owners and operators of Brosmer Lumber Co. Inc. in Jasper for many years, where she worked as the Secretary and Treasurer.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, the Jasper Circle of the Daughter's of Isabella, and was a Stephen Minister.
She was one of the founders of the Dubois County Humane Society, volunteered at the Dubois County Museum, and was a CASA Volunteer, "Court Appointed Special Advocate". She was also a member of the Huntingburg Kiwanis club and the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club.
She had a great sense of humor, loved animals, was a skilled seamstress, enjoyed drawing and painting, and genealogy. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Surviving are one daughter, Carroll Harder (Richard), Haubstaut, IN, one granddaughter, Kimberly Rivers (Joe), Albion, IL, and two great grandchildren, Abbigayle and Cade Rivers.
Preceding her in death beside her husband were three sisters, Doreen Mahan, Muriel English, and Delores DeWitt, and one brother, Jack Palmer.
Funeral services for C. LaVerne Brosmer will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN, with burial to follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in French Lick, IN. Father William Traylor will officiate.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the 4:00 p.m. service time on Saturday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dubois County Humane Society, the Dubois County Museum, or a favorite charity.
