Betty Jean Jones, 92, of Orleans

Betty Jean Jones, 92, of Orleans Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Hampton Oaks Assisted Living in Scottsburg, Indiana. 

She was born on August 28, 1929, in Salem, Indiana to Klondike and Edna Moore Hamilton. Betty married Max Jones on July 3, 1948, and he preceded her in death.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Max Jones, granddaughter Kelly Jean Jones, brothers Charles Hamilton and Franklin Hamilton, and sister Mary Hamilton Colglazier.

She was a 1948 graduate of Campbellsburg High School, Betty worked at Paoli Park and Shop Grocery, Miller’s Clothing, Paoli Bargain Center, and Paoli Jay C Store. She retired from the Salem Jay C Store in 1991. Betty was a member of the Livonia Baptist Church.

Several nieces and nephews also survive Betty Jean Jones.

The family would like to extend thanks for the loving care from the staff at Hampton Oaks of Scottsburg, Adaptive Hospice of Jeffersonville, and a heartfelt thank you to Paul Thompson, her nurse.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Dillman-Scott Funeral Home, located at 226 W. Campbell Street, Paoli, IN 47454. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service on Saturday. Interment will follow in the Stampers Creek Cemetery. Family requests mask to be worn and practice social distancing. We appreciate your cooperation.
