Barbara Ann Lottes, age 84 of Loogootee
Barbara Ann Lottes, age 84 of Loogootee, Indiana, passed away at 7:05 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at home.
Barbara Ann was born in Haysville, Indiana to Leo and Amanda (Kieffner) Meyer. She married Robert H. "Bob" Lottes on September 27, 1956 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, and would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Sunday the 27th.
Barbara Ann worked at Sakels drive-in, Swift Packing, the Jasper Glove Factory, and Crane Navel Depot before becoming a housewife and homemaker and helping Bob on the farm.
She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, and their WELCA organization. She served on the church council and played the organ for both English and German services even though she did not speak German. She was also a member of the VFW Post #673 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed her computer, word find, mowing the grass with her snapper mower, and sitting on the front porch keeping an eye on things. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren, who she always had a candy dish waiting at the back door.
Surviving are her husband Robert "Bob" Lottes of Loogootee, two sons; Scott Lottes (Mary), and Gregg Lottes (Melanie), both of Loogootee, four grandchildren; Nick Lottes, Brooke Neukam, Joshua Lottes, and Colten Lottes, six great grandchildren; Jennings Neukam, Gabe Neukam, Eva Neukam, Jake Lottes, Lilly Lottes, Lakyn Lottes, and one on the way - Leo Robert Lottes, one brother; John Meyer (Sandy), Merritt Island, FL.
Preceding her in death was one brother; Robert Meyer, and one sister; Dorothy Seitz.
Funeral services for Barbara Ann Lottes will be held at 1pm on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana with burial to follow in St. Paul's Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 2-7 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, IN, and from Noon until the 1pm service time at the church on Sunday. St. Paul's WELCA will conduct a memorial service at 5pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or a favorite charity.
