Barbara A. Stevens, 88, of Loogootee
Barbara A. Stevens, 88, of Loogootee, Indiana passed away peacefully at her home
the evening of December 9 th , 2024.
Born November 15, 1936 in Loogootee, Indiana she was the beloved daughter of
the late Philip and Helen (Nalin) Bradley.
Barbara shared a beautiful marriage of 68 years with her husband, Clarence Duane
Stevens, whom she married on May 26, 1956. Together, they built a loving family,
including their children Mark (Sherry) Stevens, Patti (Rocky) Byrd, Mike Stevens
(Carol Butts Carwile), and Pam Davis. Barbara was also a cherished grandmother
to Laura, Jeremiah, Justin, Jarredd, Ashlee, Robert, Audrey, Sean, and Meshelle;
great-grandchildren, Shana, Ashlyn, Kendra, Max, Christian, Hannah, Khloe, J.J.,
J.T., Cooper, Trysten, Tynslie, Amerya, and Athyena; great-great-grandchildren,
Malcom and Braxton.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of St. John
the Evangelist Catholic Church. Barbara served as a Eucharistic minister and was a
dedicated member of the church choir. Her commitment to her faith extended to
her involvement with the Daughters of Isabella.
Barbara will be remembered for her love of family, her passion for sewing,
reading, and cooking, and her unwavering devotion to her faith and community.
Her home was a welcoming place for visitors and friends alike. She will be deeply
missed by all who knew her.
Barbara's life was filled with love for her family, and she found joy in sewing,

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Helen (Nalin) Bradley;
her brothers, Jerry (Wanda) Bradley and Jim (Mary Jo) Bradley; daughter-in-law,
Marcella Stevens.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at
10:00 a.m. Friday, December 13 th , 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church
in Loogootee. Following the service, Barbara will be laid to rest at St. John
Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the
visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
