Anna Marie Welp, age 92, of Huntingburg

Anna Marie Welp, age 92, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:10 a.m., on Monday, July 29, 2019, at The Waters of Huntingburg.

She was born August 25, 1926, in Ferdinand, Indiana, to Peter and Rosa (Dall) Fleck; and married Aloysius J. Welp on April 23, 1949, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.  Anna was a loyal wife, mother and homemaker.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality, the funeral lunch committee and quilting committee.  She enjoyed quilting, playing cards, bowling and raising African Violets.  Anna volunteered at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital and area nursing homes.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Aloysius J. Welp, who died August 25, 2011; her parents; three sisters, Irene Mehringer, Marcella “Sally” Mundy, and Lucille Weyer; and four brothers, Gilbert Fleck, Robert Fleck, Anthony Fleck, and Oscar Fleck.

 She is survived by four children, Gene (Barbara) Welp of Ferdinand, Ind., Ron Welp of Evansville, Ind., Diane (Rod) Buschkoetter of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, and Kevin Welp of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Edna Fark of Brownsburg, Ind.; by (7) grandchildren and (8) great-grandchildren.

 Funeral services for Anna Marie Welp will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Monday, August 5, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-7:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 4^th.  A parish rosary prayer vigil will be held at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home, lead by Deacon Tom Holsworth.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to family wishes.
