Anna Mae Hopf, age 84, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 10:07 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at home.
Anna Mae was born in Jasper, Indiana, on January 15, 1935, to Henry and Eleanor (Lechner) Stenftenagel. She married Alfred "Freddie" Hopf on September 8, 1956, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.
She was a lifetime farmer and homemaker.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, St. Ann's Society, and the Extension Homemakers Club.
She enjoyed playing cards, especially with her grandchildren, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are her husband, Alfred "Freddie" Hopf, Jasper, IN, three daughters, Kanda (Greg) Merkley, Wadesville, IN, Edie (Fred) DeKemper- Chapman, Jasper, IN, Tracey (Patrick) Gutgsell, Celestine, IN, two sons, Brad (Rhonda) Hopf, Jasper, IN, Rodney "Louie" (Katrina) Hopf, Jasper, IN, 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four sisters, Mary (Kenny) Schitter, Jasper, IN, Ruth Ann Beck, Jasper, IN, Patty (Delbert) Mathies, Jasper, IN, Lucy Recker, and companion, Bernie Hopf, Ferdinand, IN, two brothers, Joe (Martha) Stenftenagel, Jasper, IN, and Rich (Helen) Stenftenagel, Jasper, IN.
Preceding her in death are two sisters, Dorothy Oeding and Caroline Mehringer, and two brothers, Jim and Lucas Stenftenagel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna Mae Hopf will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Friday. The St. Ann's Society will pray a rosary at 8:45 a.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dubois County Humane Society or to a favorite charity.
