Alice R. Noblitt, age 85 of Jasper
Alice R. Noblitt, age 85 of Jasper, IN, passed away at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper.
Alice was born on January 4, 1936 to Robert and Marie (Downey) Hochgesang. She married H. Donald Noblitt on July 17, 1958 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2010.
Alice was a proud member of the Jasper High School Class of 1954 and graduated from the Indiana State Teacher's College with degrees in Music and Elementary Education. Alice served the public and parochial schools of Jasper for 25 years as the Title 1 Director and took great pride in the accomplishments of the students she served, as well as the continued success of the program.
Alice was a proud member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph church choir, the Dubois County Historical Society, Dubois County Genealogy Society, Dubois County Retired Teachers, and volunteered at the Dubois County Museum and the Lion's Club auction. She was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, ADK Women Educators Sorority, and Panhellenic Council. She was a fan of all things Jasper and her beloved Chicago Cubs.
Alice was most proud of and is survived by her five children: Laura (Dave) Zundel, Canton, MI, Bob (Julie) Noblitt, Huntingburg, IN, Donna (Bob) Stenftenagel, Jasper, IN, Amy (Steve) Wininger, Washington, IN, Andy (Joan) Noblitt, Jasper, IN, eleven grandchildren: Matt (Jill) and Jesse (Stephanie) Noblitt, Erin, Annie, and Ben Stenftengel, Emma and Jack Wininger, Phillip, Ava, Andrew, and Clara Noblitt, and her four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Madelyn Noblitt, Axel and Owen Noblitt. Alice is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Latimer.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are two sisters; Margaret Hochgesang and Rosemarie Gilliam.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice R. Noblitt will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the 11:00 am service time at the church on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
Masks and social distancing will be required.
