Albertina M. "Tina" Meyer, age 94, of St. Anthony
Albertina M. "Tina" Meyer, age 94, of St. Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in The Waters of Huntingburg in Huntingburg, Indiana.
Tina was born in Jasper, Indiana, on October 27, 1926, to Edward and Louise (Long) Mendel. Her first marriage was to Oscar Freyberger, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1951. She then married Ralph "Spike" Meyer on November 21, 1954, in Ireland, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1979.
She was the owner and operator, along with her husband, of Spike's Tavern in St. Mark's.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish - St. Anthony Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post #673 Auxiliary, and the St. Anthony American Legion Post #493 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed playing bingo, volunteering at the nursing home, where she would lead the rosary with the residents, and spending time with her dogs. She was also an avid horse racing fan.
Surviving are her son-in-law, Steve Rottet, Jasper, IN, one daughter, Carol (Bob) Rasche, Grand Rapids, MI, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her husbands are one daughter, Kathy Rottet, one son, Gary Meyer, three sisters, Irene Blessinger, Mary Ann "Boots" Mendel, and Rosella "Sally" Seger, and five brothers, Alois, Urban, Hilbert, Charles, and Robert Lee Mendel.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Albertina M. "Tina" Meyer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021, in St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Friday at the church.
