Wine & Fries Event Goes Virtual on February 26 to Benefit Local Ronald McDonald House Charities

EVANSVILLE — Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Ohio Valley will host its annual Wine & Fries Event virtually on Friday, February 26 at 7:00 p.m. on Facebook Live.

Guests can purchase baskets to support the charity and enjoy the event from the comfort of their own homes. Baskets include two bottles of wine from the Farmer and Frenchman, coupons for McDonald’s World-Famous Fries, a commemorative Wine & Fries wine glass with customized charms, and a variety of snacks and goodies from local partners and sponsors. Baskets are $100 each and can be purchased along with a Virtual Wine Pull and other items at rmhcohiovalley.org/wine-fries.

“This event has been so popular among the community in the past, we had to find a creative way to keep it alive in a virtual wayye,” said Theresa Floyd-Maas, executive director of RMHC of the Ohio Valley. “All proceeds go toward helping families whose children are undergoing medical treatment far from home. We take the worry out of everyday things like where to find food and where to sleep while they focus on caring for their child.”

Families who stay at Ronald McDonald House Charities are steps away from where their children receive medical care. They have access to food, a kitchen, laundry facilities, and a private bedroom with bathroom among other amenities. RMHC offers a homelike environment that gives families an opportunity to rest and recharge between trips to the hospital to be with their child.

“The impact of our mission lasts long beyond a family’s stay,” said Katie Kenworthy, RMHC board member and local McDonald’s Owner/Operator. “We are so thankful for the generous support of our donors and those who participate in events like Wine & Fries which enables us to keep families close and preserve precious seconds together.”

Sponsors of the 2021 Wine & Fries Reimagined event include: Capital Electric, Consolidated Grain & Barge, D-Patrick, Deaconess Hospital/The Women’s Hospital, German American Bank, Old National Bank, Shoe Carnival, and the Paul and Kelly Snider family.
