Weather Alert Issued in Southwestern Indiana for Thursday

Local Sources - The National Weather Service and 14 News have both issued warnings for a storm system expected to roll through Southwestern Indiana on Thursday.


National Weather Service: A Marginal risk for severe weather is possible Thursday. A strong storm system is likely to bring widespread rain, gusty winds over 40 mph at times, and possibly a few thunderstorms on Thursday. However, strong wind gusts are also likely on Wednesday out ahead of the storm system. Gusts of 35-45 mph are likely. Rainfall of 1-2 inches likely Thursday into Thursday night, which could result in a few instances of nuisance flooding. Isolated damaging wind gusts will also be possible Thursday, even in showers (no thunder).Because of the damaging wind threat, the WITZ/WQKZ/JUAN Listening Areas are currently under a Marginal risk for severe weather Thursday.
