WALK OF FAITH: Hospital Employee Organizes 30 Day Prayer Walk Around Memorial Hospital in Jasper

JASPER -- A 30 Days of Prayer and Walking event continues today in Jasper.
It kicked off over the weekend. Now through Easter Sunday, residents are encouraged to walk the path around Memorial Hospital in Jasper, reflect, and pray during these uncertain times.
“My heart is to cover everyone in prayer and I really believe in the power of prayer, so it’s just how God moves and I believe he’s going to move from the outside in,” says Stacey Gutgsell, the organizer of this unique event. She works at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. “It helps you get outside of yourself, for one. I’ve always been told, if you have a bad day, get outside of yourself, and serve and love others and God makes it all better. He really does.”
During inclement weather, participants are asked to still pray in their cars or at home. To sign up or to get more information, log on to prayerwalker.org.
“Watching my daughter; she says, ‘Mom, I could be doing anything with my friends. By the end of it, the Lord has gotten to her about something she needs to work on because, if these people are in here, and here I am being outside of these walls, why am I being such a stinker about x, y and z. It’s been humbling. I think both of us have come home quietly in tears some days because of how the Lord has just really worked.”
Everyone in the community is invited to participate.
We’ll hear more from Stacey Tuesday about her experiences working in a hospital during the COVID crisis, and how her faith got her through and motivated her to organize this walk. I'll have that on-air and here on our website.
