Voting Hours Added in Ferdinand After Huge Turnout and Substantial Wait Times on Saturday

COUNTYWIDE -- 34% of registered voters in Dubois County have already cast an early ballot as we enter the final week of the 2020 election.

County Clerk Amy Kippenbrock reports 8,400 Dubois County residents have already cast in-person ballots. 2,130 have already voted by mail.

There are just under 31,000 registered voters in the county.

On Saturday, the Ferdinand Library was open for Early Voting and the turnout was huge.

"It was just kind of a steady, consistent line the whole time through,"  explains Ferdinand Town Manager Chris James. "We got there about quarter after seven and got by the front door about 7:30 and they had a steady line the entire day."

Because of that huge turnout, Dubois County election officials are adding more voting hours at the Ferdinand Library.

It will now be open Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Remember, when you vote, you must bring a mask and photo ID.

For early voting, any Dubois County voter can cast a ballot at any open location. On Election Day, however, you must vote at your assigned precinct.

The 2020 Election is one week from today.
