UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS: Workers in Dubois and Surrounding Counties Are Getting Back to Work

JASPER -- Workers in Dubois County are going back to work, according to new unemployment numbers released Monday.
Dubois County reported 4.5% unemployment in August. That’s down from 6.1% in July and 7.1% in June.
Daviess County had the lowest unemployment in the state last month at 3.5%. The second lowest rate was in Martin County at 3.8%.
Spencer County reported 4.7%; Pike County 5.4%; Perry County 5.5%; and Crawford County reported an unemployment rate of 5.9%.
The highest unemployment locally was in Orange County at 8.1%.
Unemployment rates skyrocketed over the Spring months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
