Two Kentucky Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested after Wednesday Night Pursuit
Two Ohio men believed to have committed an armed robbery in Kentucky were arrested Wednesday night after a multi-county pursuit.
Around 10:40 PM Wednesday, the Bullitt County, Kentucky Sheriff’s Office contacted the Indiana State Police Regional Dispatch Center in Versailles, requesting Troopers check the area of Henryville, Indiana for two suspects believed to have committed an armed robbery. Bullitt County believed that the individuals were in a Ford F150 pickup that they had just stolen. As Troopers began towards the area to look for the individuals, Bullitt County informed ISP that their latest update indicated that the suspects were near the Wendy’s restaurant in Scottsburg, Indiana.
At 10:49, Scottsburg Police and Scott County deputies observed the Ford in the Wendy’s parking lot; at the same time, the suspects observed law enforcement and attempted to flee. State Troopers and officers began pursuing the Ford east on State Road 56 to State Road 3, and north on State Road 3 into Jefferson County. The pursuit continued through Jefferson County into Jennings County at speeds reaching 100 miles per hour. Along State Road 3 near County Road 650 South, Troopers conducted a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT), causing the Ford to leave the west side of the roadway. The driver, 45-year-old Daniel York, attempted to run from the scene but was caught and placed into custody by officers with the Austin Police Department. The passenger, 62-year-old Everett Kline, was placed into custody without incident at the scene of the crash.
Both York and Kline were lodged in the Jefferson County, Indiana jail after medical evaluation and treatment from their vehicle crash after leaving the roadway. In addition to being wanted for their alleged involvement in an armed robbery and vehicle theft through Bullitt County, Kentucky, both men were wanted on warrants. York was wanted through Perry County, Indiana on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia, as well as through Vanderburgh County, Indiana on charges of Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury, Criminal Mischief, Unauthorized Entry into a Vehicle, and Public Intoxication.
