Two Juveniles Flee Three-Car Collision, Jasper Woman Charged

Jasper - A Jasper woman has been charged for allowing a juvenile to drive without a license prior to the juvenile's involvement in fleeing a three-car collision.


On 11/10/2021, Jasper Police responded to a three-car collision at the intersection of Newton Street and Northwood Avenue. Upon arrival, Police learned that the juvenile driver and juvenile passenger had fled the scene of the collision. 

Both juveniles were located at the intersection of Howard Drive and Northwood Avenue by police. While investigating the collision, it was determined that the driver did not have a license. Both juveniles and and another driver were transported to the hospital. 

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Susana Castillo, 44, of Jasper, knowingly let the juvenile drive the vehicle. After finding out about the collision, Susana called the Jasper Police Department to report the car stolen. 

The juvenile driver was referred to juvenile probation for leaving the scene of an accident and driving without ever receiving a license. Castillo was cited for knowingly permitting an unlicensed driver to drive and charged with false informing.
