FROM LOCAL SOURCES

JASPER -- Two people are in the Dubois County jail on charges they trafficked illegal items into Community Corrections.

Police say 24-year-old Savion Frye of Jasper was on work release but failed to return to Community Corrections and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  Officers located him Monday at a hotel on the south side of Jasper, but, he allegedly ripped a window screen and jumped from the first floor window attempting to flee.

A taser was deployed but didn’t take the man down.  After a struggle with officers, Frye was taken into custody.
