TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN ARREST OF SPENCER MAN
A Thursday afternoon traffic stop initiated by the Spencer Police Department with assistance from the Indiana State Police resulted in the arrest of a Spencer man on drug-related charges.
Trooper Clay McBridge and his K-9 partner Noble, provided assistance and Noble was deployed for a vehicle sniff. As a result of the search, more than one (1) pound of methamphetamine and more than 10 grams of marijuana were seized. The driver, identified as James Edward Corns, Age 53, of Spencer, was arrested and transported to the Owen County Jail where his custody was transferred.
Corns was arrested on the following charges:
- Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony
- Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Level 6 Felony
- Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor
- Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor
The matter remains under investigation for further charges.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
