Traffic Stop leads to Multiple Drug Charges for Illinois Man

Jasper- An Illinois man is facing a number of charges in Jasper.
On Wednesday morning, July 13th, the Jasper Police Department responded to a call of a 2020 Nissan Altima with a missing passenger side mirror driving recklessly on 6th street in Jasper. Officers located the vehicle traveling southbound on US Highway 231. After the light turned green, the vehicle continued to sit for a prolonged amount of time, according to a press release.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Jeffrey Lazare, 39 of Francisville, Illinois. After an investigation, Lazare was transported to Memorial Hospital for a chemical test.
The test indicated the presence of benzodiazepines, cocaine propoxyphene, MDMA, amphetamines, and methamphetamine.
When conducting the arrest, more than one gram of methamphetamine, as well as a glass pipe, syringe, and four legend (prescription) drugs, were located.
Lazare was arrested and taken to the Dubois County Security center on multiple charges.
