Thyen-Clark Cultural Center to Celebrate Black History Month with Movie Event

Jasper - Jasper Community Arts and the Jasper Public Library have paired up to celebrate Black History Month with a FREE lunch and movie event. 

The event will feature food by Archie’s BBQ and a screening of The Wiz: Live! The Wiz Live! is a television special that aired live on NBC on December 3, 2015. The performance of a new adaptation of the 1975 Broadway musical The Wiz, a soul/R&B reinterpretation of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. 

The broadcast is performed live from Grumman Studios in Bethpage, New York. This adaptation of the musical combines aspects of both the Broadway play and its 1978 film adaptation.

 The event will take place at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center. Food will be available in the meeting room, Cherry A at 1:00 pm. The movie screening will be presented in the Black Box Theatre at 1:15 pm. Food can be taken into the Black Box Theatre and enjoyed while watching the film. 

The event is FREE and open to all ages! The public is encouraged is bring the entire family as we celebrate diversity, the arts, literature, and Black History Month!
