THURSDAY UPDATE: 63 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Dubois County

JASPER -- 63 new cases of COVID-19 were reported Thursday afternoon in Dubois County. 

It brings our total to 3,129 cases since the pandemic began.

34 people have died this year due to COVID-19, meaning the vast majority of local residents who have been diagnosed have recovered. 

All of our county's deaths have been over the age of 50, according to the data on the state's COVID-19 dashboard.

Our seven-day positivity rate stands at 17.2%. 

In District 10, only 13% of the ICU beds are currently available. 

Locally, District 10 includes Dubois, Daviess, Martin, Pike, Perry, and Spencer Counties.


STATEWIDE UPDATE: INDIANA

The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 6,604 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at state and private laboratories. That brings to 404,935 the number of Indiana residents now known to have had the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 6,302 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 96 from the previous day. Another 301 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.           

To date, 2,369,181 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 2,352,854 on Wednesday. A total of 4,762,893 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
