THEFT WARNING: Jasper Police Received Over 25 Reports of Vehicle Break-Ins Over the Past Month
FROM LOCAL SOURCES
JASPER -- The Jasper Police Department is warning residents to lock their vehicles after a string of break-ins in the city.
JPD has received at least 25 reports over the past month from residents who say their vehicles had been entered and rummaged through. Several items have been stolen in these incidents.
Many of the thefts occurred on the city’s northwest side during the nighttime hours.
Police remind you to lock your vehicles anytime you leave them unattended.
JPD also encourages residents to sign up for their Keep Watch Security Camera Registry Program. All information is kept private and the police department does not have access to live footage. If police deem it beneficial, JPD will get approval from homeowners to view their camera footage as part of an investigation.
