The Rivalry set to make timely return to the Lincoln Amphitheatre June 22-24

Lincoln City- Norman Corwin’s former Broadway play The Rivalry will return to the Lincoln Amphitheatre’s Kyana Woodstock Performance Stage from Thursday, June 22, through Saturday, June 24.

All three performances will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m.  The tri-state’s award-winning Civil War band, the Red Bank ReUnion Band, will perform pre-show in the mezzanine each night beginning at 6:15 p.m.  All times are central.

The Rivalry recreates the fiery 1858 face-off between rising Illinois legislator Abraham Lincoln and incumbent Stephen A. Douglas and tackles the day’s most passionate issue—slavery—and is being presented with support from the Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association.

Individual general admission tickets are $19.95 with children 12 and under allowed for free and senior and veteran discounts also available.  Tickets are available at www.LincolnAmphitheatre.com, directly at  bit.ly/LincolnAmphitheatre2023 or by phoning the Lincoln Amphitheatre’s box office at 812-937-2329.

The Rivalry is being executive produced by Actors Community Theatre, a 501c3 not-for-profit organization headquartered in nearby Jasper, Indiana, with hands on production work provided by the newly formed 1816 Theatrics.  1816 Theatrics is a new 501c3 dedicated to producing high quality theatre that examines and/or celebrates historic events and the people who shaped them.

Full concessions, including beer and wine, will be available for all three of the June 22-24 performances of The Rivalry
