The Optimist Club of Jasper and Fraternal Order of Police host Respect for Law Dinner and Law Enforcement Candlelight Memorial

Jasper - In honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day, a day designated by President John F. Kennedy to fallen officers, The Optimist Club of Jasper and Fraternal Order of Police hosted Respect for Law Dinner and Law Enforcement Candlelight Memorial.

Wednesday's event featured speakers, both in and out of law enforcement, officers in dress, their families, and the families of officers who are no longer here.

Those in attendance stepped outside the Habig Center for a candlelight vigil for words of remembrance before several officers from local jurisdictions read aloud the names of fallen brethren.
