Sunrise Coal Mine in Carlisle to Close For Good Citing "Negative Free Cash Flow"

CARLISLE -- The Sunrise Coal Mine in Carlisle will close permanently. 

WTWO says Hallador Energy Co. released a statement Monday, quoting "negative free cash flow over the past 18 months" as the cause. 

The mine had already been idle since January, after citing weak market conditions and laying off 90 workers. 

$23 million in equipment and infrastructure will transfer to the mine in Oaktown.
