Strassenfest Organizers Encourage You to Donate to Local Groups Missing Out on This Year's Festival Income

JASPER -- We know that everyone is already well aware of the fact that the 2020 Jasper Strassenfest has been cancelled. But, as we stated in the previous press release announcing the cancellation, we encourage the general public to consider donating directly to those organizations whose food or game booths and events you would have patronized at the Strassenfest.
To aid in that effort, below, is a list of organizations which would have operated booths
and events at Strassenfest Contact names and/or mailing addresses are included for most of the
organizations in the listing.
Although the Strassenfest will not actually be held this year, the Strassenfest Committee would
still like to encourage everyone to decorate the town of Jasper and surrounding area in
Strassenfest colors the week of July 27th to August 2nd in celebration of our German Heritage.
As they are every year at this time, official Strassenfest flags, bunting, as well as collectible
mugs and buttons featuring this year’s official Strassenfest Logo, are available for purchase
during regular business hours Monday through Friday at the Jasper Chamber of Commerce
office at the corner of Sixth and Clay Streets in Jasper.
Funds generated annually through the
purchase of these decorative and memorabilia items go directly to help funding the following
year’s Strassenfest celebration.
A limited number of mugs are available at $30 each, but due to
the thousands of buttons that will not be sold this year at the beer garden entrance, buttons are
available for just $1.00 each. Program books will not be available, as the books had not yet gone
to print when the decision was made to cancel the Strassenfest.
The committee has already started planning for and is looking forward to an even bigger and
better Strassenfest to be held in and around downtown Jasper, August 5th through 8th, 2021.

updates about next year’s festival.

We are the only booth with souvenirs, shirts, patches, pins, stickers and general information about the Straßenfest. The proceeds from our booth support the JHS German Exchange Program. This exchange has been ongoing for 35 years and occurs every two years between Jasper and Pfaffenweiler, Germany. Our exchange students man the booth and also participate in the Strassenfest Heritage events and the StrassenVORfest. The showcase at Jasper High School also highlights the 35-year tradition of the German Exchange with Pfaffenweiler/Staufen, Germany. |
