State Audit Finds 16 Newly Discovered COVID-19 Deaths in Dubois County Bringing Death Toll to 98

JASPER -- 16 more Dubois County residents have been added to the list of local COVID-19 fatalities.

It brings our county’s death toll to 98.

Statewide, around 1,500 historical deaths are being attributed to the virus.

The new deaths were discovered during a state audit of death certificates and health department reports.  The newly discovered deaths didn’t happen over the course of a single day.  1,205 deaths happened in 2020, while 302 occurred this year, according to reporting from Fox News in Indianapolis.
