SOUTHWEST DUBOIS SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
The Southwest Dubois School Corporation held their regular board meeting on Thursday night
in preparation for the coming school year.
The Corporation announced that it was awarded a 2024 Digital Learning Grant for $50,000. The
grant will be used to fund technology and curriculum to support the development of an E-
sports program as part of its Digital Citizenship. Additionally, it will be used for Universal Design
for a learning tool with Snap and Read, as well as Professional Development with HECC and
Gaming Concepts.
Southridge High School was recognized by the board for several achievements. Lupe Dubon and
Adamaris Calderon placed second in the nation for Inside Our Schools-Spanish at the Educator’s
Rising National Conference in Washington, D.C. Also at the Rising National Conference, Janelle
Hill, Gracie Mullins, and Madi Schwartz placed Top 10 in the Nation for Inside Our Schools.
The high school will have facilities in use from July 21 st -July 26 th for band camp. The
Huntingburg Police Department will utilize the track on August 3 rd , and the Wrestling Room on
August 5 th . The Softball field will be reserved for Indiana Elite Fastpitch on August 5 th and 6 th .
In other business, the board approved a second reading of the NEOLA special update and the
Southwest Student Device Policy and Agreement. The board also adopted the 2025 Budget
Timeline and Teacher Appreciation Grant Policy, and approved an insurance policy renewal
with German American Insurance.
Southwest Dubois County School Corporation regular board meetings are open to the public
and are held on the third Thursday of the month from 5:30-6:30. The SWDCS board room is
located at 105 W Sunset Dr., Huntingburg IN.
