Southeast Dubois School Corporation Pens Thank You to Community After State Championship

"Throughout the month of February, Forest Park Jr./Sr. High School experienced a very special period in its history. Our Girls’ basketball team advanced to the state championship game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for the second time in school history and Won the first ever Girls’ Basketball State Championship!!! As we reflect back on this experience, we extend a sincere thanks to our coaches and players for their commitment and dedication to excellence that was needed for a team to accomplish such a goal. Achievements of such magnitude don’t just occur; they happen because individuals work as a team. They occur because as a team, they dare to dream and develop the teamwork and individual skills that make the impossible a reality. 

We would like to thank all support staff for this special time in the history of our school. We thank the students of Forest Park who gave their support, our loyal parents, our community businesses, Community Police and Fire Departments, and our past Forest Park graduates who emailed messages of best wishes and returned to Indiana to support our team as they advanced through tournament play. Your tremendous support made this a truly special event. 

We also express a sincere thanks to all media who supported our school and team and to all the communities of Dubois County. 

It was an honor for our school and team to represent the community as we advanced to the 2A State Championship. We thank you and look forward to having the opportunity to do it again. 

We also extend a special thank you to all of our fans who have shown support year after year. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that kids come first. Many of you understand that and your understanding is greatly appreciated."
