Soil Stabilization Project Scheduled for SR 62 Near Sulfur
Crawford Co. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 62 near Sulfur for a soil stabilization project.
Beginning on or around Tuesday, April 12, contractors will close S.R. 62 near South Old Union Church Road to begin correcting a geological slide. As a part of this project, workers will correct stabilize a portion of the right of way near the road and stabilize eroded areas. Workers will also add erosion control materials as a preventative measure.
Work is expected to last until the end of May, depending upon weather conditions. During the project the road will be closed around the clock. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure, but all other traffic should use the official detour following S.R. 37, I-64 and S.R. 237.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
