Soil and Water Conservation Districts Hosting Regenerative Ag and Soil Health Events in November

 The Regenerative Ag Forum will be Saturday, November 6, from 10 AM to 2 PM EDT in Haubstadt, Indiana. This event is for all farmers and landowners interested in improving soil health, reducing crop costs and fertilizer run-off, building resilience to extreme weather events, and moderating climate change. Speakers include Senator Mike Braun, US Senate Ag Committee member, Barry Fisher, national leader in regenerative ag, Erik Bender, Southwestern Indiana cover crop seed dealer, and Roger Wenning, Greensburg IN farmer with 900+ aces of corn, soybeans, and wheat. 

 The many sponsors for this event will cover all expenses, including lunch. The Dubois County Soil and Water Conservation District is arranging transportation for residents who plan to attend and would like to carpool.  Tuesday, November 16, the Perry and Spencer County Soil and Water Conservation Districts are hosting a soil health workshop in Tell City. This event will be at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds from 10 AM to 4 PM, EST. The topics for discussion include reducing risks while increasing farm income, how to make soil health practices pay on your farm, and the SW Natural Resources Conservation Service Soil Health Team will perform live demonstrations using their soil health trailer. Speakers include Rick Clark, Williamsport IN farmer, Wayne Fredericks, American Soybean Association and Iowa farmer, and Sara Dzimianski, Purdue Extension, Perry County.

 PARP credits have been requested; the $10 PARP fee will be required by those seeking credits.
