Seymour Woman Killed After Hitting a Tree on U.S. 31 Thursday Morning

SEYMOUR -- A Seymour woman was killed Thursday morning in a crash on U.S. 31 in Jackson County.

Police say 61-year-old Debra Wetzel was driving on U.S. 31 when, for an unknown reason, she swerved off of the roadway and hit a tree.

She was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Investigators say Wetzel was not wearing a seat belt.

They don’t believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.
