Severe Weather Update

The WITZ listening area is in an Enhanced Risk of damaging winds and tornadoes this afternoon until 10pm EST. The remainder of hurricane Beryl is morning northeast and will impact our area later this afternoon and into tonight. As the system moves toward us, moderate instability combined with strong low level wind shear has the potential to bring severe weather. 

Primary threats are predicted to be damaging winds, brief pop-up tornadoes, and heavy rainfall. Localized flooding may also occur.
