Huntingburg- Huntingburg’s Salon on 4th celebrated a decade of business Thursday.
Members of the community, Huntingburg City Government, and the Huntingburg Merchant’s Association joined the celebration with owner Dottie Kane and family.
“Huntingburg has been good to you and you have been good to us,” shared one of the patrons at the celebration.
“Is that amazing or what,” Kane said after the ceremony, “There’s some ladies that I’ve been doing their hair since I took over ten years ago. I have some people I have just started doing. The ladies who bring the older ladies to the shop who can’t drive themselves and the people from the (Huntingburg) Merchant’s Association.”
Kane, who made Huntingburg a home after living in Texas for over 20 years, also received a letter from Huntingburg Mayor Steve Schwinghammer.
“Mayor Steve (Schwinghammer) has been a great Mayor,” Kane expressed, “All of the merchants really like him as being mayor and for him to take the time to write the letter is wonderful. Having the letter that he wrote was very nice, very considerate.”
With 10 years of business now surpassed Kane and her family are looking forward to the next decade. She says she hopes the next 10 years are bigger and better and looks forward to a 20 year celebration when the time comes.
Salon on 4th is on Huntingburg’s historic 4th street, just east of Jackson Street.
