Runners and Walkers Coming Through Jasper on September 21
Heartland Half Marathon, 5K, Team Challenge, and Kids Fun Run is fast approaching, taking place on Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21.
On Saturday, the half marathon and team challenge events begin at 7:30 a.m. (ET) with the 5K start at 8:30 a.m. (ET) around the square in downtown Jasper. Grab a friend or a family member to cheer the runners on along the route. Signs, music, or just good, old-fashioned clapping along with words of support go a long way in encouraging a runner or walker to keep pushing toward the finish line. Let’s show this year’s participants what Hoosier hospitality is all about!
The Heartland Committee would like to remind the Jasper community to yield to race participants and be courteous to our volunteers who are protecting the runners and walkers. Also, to keep everyone safe, we ask that those who live along the race route, please be sure to keep your pets secure Saturday morning from 7:30am-11:30am.

There is still time to register for the events. Online registration is available until September 19th with in-person registrations available at Friday's packet pick-up and day of race as well. Cost to register is $80 for the half marathon, $30 for the 5k, $35 for the Team Challenge, and $10 for the Kids Fun Run.
Prior, on Friday, the Kids Fun Run takes place also around the newly revitalized downtown square. Day of registration is available from 11 am until 5:45 pm with the fun run starting at 6:00 pm ET. Join us to tailgate and enjoy kids games and activities before the home football game. Beginning at approximately 6:35pm a procession led by members of the Jasper High School Band and Dance Team will lead anyone interested in attending the football game to Jerry Brewer Stadium.
Join the celebration around the square on Saturday to cheer on the runners as they cross the finish line. Grab a coffee at Bursting with Love or The Next Chapter, or grab a drink and brunch at Oink Inc., located on South Main Street.
