Rep. Lindauer Issues Statement on Updated School COVID Guidelines

Statehouse – Indiana State Representative Shane Lindauer (R - Jasper) issued a statement on the state's updated COVID-19 guidelines for schools on Friday.

"I've spoken to numerous parents, teachers and administrators about current COVID-19 guidelines for schools and I've communicated their input to our state health department officials," Lindauer said. "I know many parents welcome these new policy guidelines, especially the change to quarantining, and I see this as encouraging news as the data becomes more clear. I urge local stakeholders to reach out to me with any questions or concerns on this issue."

The Indiana Department of Health announces on Thursday that beginning Feb. 23, schools no longer will be required to conduct contact tracing or report positive cases to IDOH.

Schools also will no longer need to quarantine students who are exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, regardless of vaccination status or whether the school requires masks.
