Red Cross to Offer COVID-19 Antibody Testing for All Donations

Local Sources - For a limited time in March, the American Red Cross will be offering free COVID-19 antibody testing with all donations.

Thursday, the American Red Cross made the announcement that beginning on March 7th, the organization will be testing all blood, platelet, and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies.

The Red Cross notes that this incentive will be a limited time offer.

Over the course of the pandemic, the national blood supply has dropped to its lowest level in a decade.

There will be two upcoming opportunities to donate in Dubois County.

  - March 14th: A blood drive will be held at the St. Charles Health Campus, located at 3150 St. Charles Street in Jasper, from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The sponsor code for the event is "StCharlesHealth".

  - March 15th: A second blood drive will be held at the V.F.W. Post 2366, located at 314 Geiger Street in Huntingburg, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The sponsor code for the event is "VFW 2366".
