Police Still Searching for Stolen Vehicle Suspect

UPDATE (3:00 PM Wednesday)- Police have identified the suspect as Brandon Gordon of Colorado. 

Gordon was found in an abandoned house after a tip was called in about a suspicious person from a Ferdinand resident. 

He faces charges of resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, theft, battery, and cruelty of an animal.

UPDATE (11:00 AM Wednesday)-  The search for the wanted suspect in Ferdinand has come to an end. Ferdinand Police Chief Kerri Blessinger confirmed to us law enforcement has the suspect in custody. Police have yet to release his identity.

UPDATE (10:00 AM Wednesday)- Ferdinand Police Chief Kerri Blessinger tells us officers are continuing to follow leads on Tuesday's Stolen Vehicle suspect. There will be a heavy police presence in the city as officers continue their search.

To help police and as a reminder, keep all windows, doors, and garages locked and secured. Make sure all vehicles are locked as well.

UPDATE (4:30 PM)- Ferdinand Police Chief Kerri Blessinger says they believe the identity of the individual has been made. 

Police say they've done all they can at this point and believe the suspect may be waiting for a ride or may have already been picked up. 

Chief Blessinger also says a search warrant is being applied for the vehicle used in the chase to confirm the suspects identity. Blessinger also says an arrest warrant may come as well once the identity is confirmed. The vehicle was stolen from Knox County, Kentucky, who alerted local law enforcement it may be in the area.

Residents should make sure all doors and windows in their homes are locked, along with their vehicles. If they see anyone walking on their property or backyard, call 9-1-1. A suspect description can be found in the original post below:

Ferdinand- Local and State Law Enforcement are still searching for the suspect involved in an incident in Ferdinand.

Dubois County dispatch confirmed as of 3:30 PM Eastern, the suspect has yet to be apprehended.

Early Tuesday morning, Ferdinand police located a believed to be stolen vehicle traveling in the city. When attempting to stop the driver, police say he fled in the vehicle before crashing and continuing to flee on foot.

Police say a search was done in the area of Masterbrand Cabinets in Ferdinand.

Forest Park Jr./Sr. High School and Ferdinand Elementary School were placed on lockdown as a precaution, said in a message from Superintendent Jaimie Pund. That lockdown has since been lifted, according to Dubois County Dispatch.

The driver is described as a male in his mid-30s, wearing black shorts and a red t-shirt. Anyone who sees someone matching this description should contact 9-1-1 immediately.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office says it is unknown if the suspect is armed and dangerous.
