POLICE: Man Kills Woman, Shoots Himself in the Head and Survives, Now he's Charged With Murder

GRANDVIEW -- Alan Lee Bennett has been formally charged with murder in the shooting death of 64-year-old Linda Bowman of Grandview.

He’s recovering at an undisclosed hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

It all stemmed from a domestic dispute earlier in the week. 

Police responded to a home in the 6000 block of North Highland Road to find Bowman dead and Bennett needing immediate medical attention.

He was flown to a hospital.  Now, he is in the custody of Indiana State Police.  Once he’s released from the hospital, Bennett will be lodged in the Spencer County jail.
