POLICE: Alcohol May Have Been a Factor in Series Crash Thursday in Dale, Two Airlifted From Scene

FROM LOCAL SOURCES

DALE -- State Police believe alcohol was a factor in a crash Thursday on CR 300 E near Dale.

Investigators say the driver, 26-year-old Alysha Bender of Marengo, was driving at a high rate of speed when she disregarded the dead end signs and hit a number of farming implements.

The vehicle came to a stop after it struck a utility pole, snapping it in half.

Bender and her passenger were extricated from the vehicle and flown to an Evansville hospital.

Police say criminal charges may be filed, pending the results of a toxicology report.
