Please Stay Off the Grass, A request from St. Vincent DePaul

Jasper- St. Vincent DePaul is making a request to the public.

The store is usually open for donation drop offs most of the year. However, with the holidays, they typically close the drop off location a few days before so their volunteers and employees can spend time with their families.

While many respect these closings, some did not and drove through the grass to get around the barricades.

“Unfortunately, over Christmas, while most of the community was wonderful and respectful, we had several people disrespect that and drove through our grass.” Shared St. Vincent DePaul’s Johnna Gilbert.

Signs, ropes and other barricades have been set up to deter and inform the public of the drop off location’s closing. This year, the drop off location is closing the Thursday before the holiday and reopening the Tuesday after at 8:00AM.

Most things can be donated to the store, but there are some restrictions. Broken and dirty items, mattresses and boxsprings, and televisions can not be accepted due to restrictions and health concerns.
