Pipe Failure Causes Sinkhole to Form in SR 164 in Jasper, Road Closed

JASPER -- SR 164 in Jasper is closed today (Monday) after a pipe failure caused a large sinkhole in the middle of the roadway over the weekend.

It’s at the 3.8 mile marker on 164.

Local traffic will have access up to the site of the pipe failure.  The official detour will be SR 545 to SR 56 West to U.S. 231 South.

INDOT expects to have work finished on the new pipe by later Monday afternoon.
