Pier 1 Imports Files For Bankruptcy, Company Expected to Close Several Hoosier Stores

BLOOMINGTON -- Pier 1 Imports has filed for bankruptcy. 

The home goods retailer has been struggling financially with increased competition from online retailers. 

Last month, Pier 1 announced it would close 450 stores, including some in Indiana -- Fort Wayne, Merrillville, Valparaiso, Goshen, Warsaw and Bloomington.
