Photo Contest Planned by Dubois County Museum

The Dubois County Museum at 2704 N Newton Street in Jasper is calling all amateur photographers to participate in the 2 nd Annual Photo Contest. The theme of the contest is “Your Favorite Photo”. The theme can be expressed in the form of flowers, animals, landscapes, macro, etc. in color or black and white. The photo must be taken by you. It does not have to be a picture from this year. You may submit up to three photos. There is a $5 entry fee per photo. Minor editing is allowed such as cropping, sharpness, color etc. There are three entry categories: Children-Ages 5 to 12, Teens-Ages 13 to 19, and Adults-ages 20 and over. Submit your entries from April 15 to April 30, 2025. Photos must be a framed, 8 X 10 photo size, (portrait or landscape) and brought to the Museum or mailed to P.O. Box 1086 2704 N. Newton Street, Jasper, IN 47546 by the deadline. No previously submitted photos please. Photos will be on display for viewing and public voting from May 1 through June 1, 2025. The public is encouraged to participate in the voting. One voting ballot per person per day with paid admission or Museum pass. There will be cash prizes awarded in each category. There will also be a special award judged by local photographers. Winners will be announced June 3, 2025, via Facebook, printed media and radio. Any questions, contact Kathy Bachman at 812-630-8696. We will display the photo contest up to August 10. After that date, all photos may be picked up at the Museum.


About the museum 


The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00pm, Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-4:00pm and Sunday 1:00-4:00pm. Closed on Monday. 

Admission of $5 per adult, $3 for high school students, and $2 for middle and elementary students is charged. Visitors four and under are free. Those holding a current Dubois County Museum Membership are granted free admission. 

The Dubois County Museum is a local nonprofit organization committed to the collection, preservation and interpretation of historical artifacts and information important to the citizens of the county. Museum operations are funded by annual memberships, admissions, donations and gifts from visitors, area residents and businesses. It is operated entirely by volunteers. It is located in Jasper at 2704 N. Newton Street (US231). Call (812) 634-7733. Please allow two hours to view exhibits.
