Paoli Man Arrested after Shooting Neighbor

Paoli- Tyler Matthew is looking at charges after a shooting in Paoli.

On Sunday, officers with the Paoli Police department, Orange County Sheriff’s office, and a trooper with the Indiana State Police responded to a call of a woman shot in Paoli. They spoke with Tyler Cooper who informed officers he fired a .300 Magnum round in his backyard and might have struck his neighbor, Tammy Schneider.

Cooper was arrested by Indiana State Police detectives for aggravated battery (level 3 Felony) and criminal recklessness with a firearm (level 5 Felony). He was taken to the Orange county jail without incident.

Schneider was taken to U of L Hospital in Louisville where she is in stable condition.
