Owner of the Schnitzelbank passes away at 85

Jasper- The owner of the Schnitzelbank in Jasper has passed away at 85.

Lawrence J “Larry” Hanselman passed away on Saturday at the Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.

Hanselman graduated from Jasper High School in 1954. He would serve in the United States Army and serve in the Military Police.

He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, American Legion post #147, V.F.W. Post #673, the Jasper Deutscherverein, the Jasper K of C- where he was a 4th degree knight, and was a founding member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. 

Former Mayor Terry Seitz awarded him a key to the city of Jasper in 2018. You can watch the presentation below


He owned the Schnitzelbank restaurant for over 60 years.

The Schnitzelbank announced on their Facebook page they will close on Friday, June 24th so family, friends, and the staff can celebrate his life.
