New Bikes Donated to JPD Bike Patrol

Jasper- Jasper Police received some new wheels Tuesday.

The department reports two new electric bicycles were donated to the JPD Bike Patrol by the American Legion Post 147. JPD says these bikes, along with the others they currently have, will be used in areas during events patrol cars can not reach. This includes the River Walk and Jasper Parklands. 

JPD says the two new bikes will replace two of the four they currently have, which have been used since 1996. Currently, there are six officers a part of the Bike Patrol. They will be out during Strassenfest Thursday through Sunday.
