Monday Accident Claims Life of Ferdinand Man

Huntingburg- The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident in Huntingburg Monday.

Officials say around 2:00 in the afternoon, DCSD and other first responders were notified of a single vehicle accident on County Road 200 West.

Officers arrived and identified the driver as 64-year-old Stanley R. Vonderheide of Ferdinand. Officials believe Vonderheide, for unknown reasons, veered off the west side of the road. He was transported to Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the accident. No other information has been released.
