Messmer Column: Take my 2023 Constitutional Survey
Local Sources- On this week's Messmer Column, State Senator Mark Messmer (R-Jasper) asks you to take his Constitutional Survey.
Americans often remain fixated on decisions being made in Washington D.C., forgetting that state government, in many ways, has an even bigger impact on their daily lives.
For example, the Indiana General Assembly passes legislation that deals with education, agriculture, infrastructure, economic development and more -- all of which impact Hoosiers on a day-to-day basis.
To remind Hoosiers of issues on a state level, each year, I send out a survey to Senate District 48 asking them to share their thoughts about issues facing Indiana.
My 2023 constituent survey includes questions on a variety of topics that could come up during the upcoming legislative session. There is also space on the survey where you can leave comments about any issue or concern you may have.
This year, my survey includes questions involving the state's budget surplus, school curriculum and other topics impacting our state and community.
I encourage you to consider what issues matter to you before taking my survey. What would you like to see improved in our state and community? The survey is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts with me so I can represent Senate District 48 to the best of my ability.

The deadline to complete my survey is Jan. 4.
As always, feel free to contact my office directly with your questions and concerns by email at [email protected] or by phone at 800-382-9467.
